Sylmar Cascades

2020 | Pine. Design/ build by Hannah Go

The Los Angeles Aqueduct-Cascades in Sylmar is a local landmark. Most tend to think that it looks like a giant waterslide. The aqueduct was designed and built by LA’s water department under the supervision of the department's Chief Engineer William Mulholland. The system delivers water from the Owens River in the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains to LA.

I developed this chair to explore the relationship between my own early memories of the Cascades in the Valley, and Its historic context.
